Real Estate Broker Exam Other metro counties should follow Gwinnett's lead in trying to identify areas of septic tank failure and determine remedies, whether in the form of sewer line construction or septic maintenance and repair requirements.

Brokerage Services Finally, the Georgia Legislature should authorize county environmental health departments to require that tanks be pumped and inspected whenever a property is sold. That "point-of-sale" approach, taken by Macomb County, Mich., required minimal staff increase for that government and less interference and expense for homeowners. The measure can protect the environment and homebuyers and would be a good starting point for catching septic problems.
