When the wind blows in Tampa Bay, it's truly one incredible place to windsurf. If you enjoy sailing in 10 knots, you'll get your fair share of great days. For high-wind sailors, the winter provides at least 10 shortboard days per month, but often well more that. Some winter months have seen more than 20 days of 15-knot or stronger winds. One cold front alone can create two days of southwesterlies followed by two or three strong northwesterly days. Oh, and if all else fails, there's the wonderful thought of a hurricane sitting itself just far enough offshore to scare the hell out of every normal person while the locals run for the beach. You gotta love it!
