Arbitron Internet Broadcast Services Releases the Last Ratings Using the MeasureCast System

NEW YORK, April 13, 2004 Arbitron Internet Broadcast Ratings released today, the ratings for the week of March 22, the last ratings using the MeasureCast system.

Online Brokerage In the final set of ratings, AOL Radio@Network and LAUNCH were the top-ranked commercial Internet Broadcasters with 4,728,485 and 4,181,374 hours of TTSL, respectively. AOL reported problems with their server data for the week, resulting in ratings that are lower than prior weeks. MUSICMATCH was the top-ranked non-commercial Internet Broadcaster, with 2,463,776 hours of TTSL. The Adsertion Network was ranked as the top Internet Radio Advertising Sales Network with 865,614 TTSL.

Tiscali is an internet based digital TV service on trial in London, which allows you to watch popular shows up to seven days after theya ve first been broadcast. As ita s an internet service, you can also get deals on your home phone and broadband, too.

Real Estate Broker MUSICMATCH Artist Match was ranked as the number one Internet radio station and top non-commercial station with 1,031,601 hours of TTSL. Virgin Radio was the top commercial Internet Broadcast Station 357,199 with hours of TTSL.

Such events could include a loss of power at your location, speed Internet service, and fluctuations in the quality of service of the public internet.

Agency Brokerage Spark The top Content Delivery Networks (CDN) were Live365 and StreamGuys with 2,991,110 TTSL and 616,522 TTSL, respectively. The Total Time Spent Listening for these Content Delivery Networks is the sum of all tuning to stations streamed by the CDN including commercial and non-commercial stations.

The internet service provider Wanadoo says that more than 150, 000 customers are now using its voice over internet protocol (VoIP) phone service.

  1. TTSL (Total Time Spent Listening), sometimes referred to as Aggregate Tuning Hours (ATH), is the total number of hours tuned to a given station or network in the reported time period.
  2. Cume Persons is an estimate of the total number of unique listeners who had one or more listening sessions lasting five minutes or longer during the reported time period. This estimate is derived using an algorithm that takes into account unique media player GUIDs, unique IP addresses and other variables during the reported time period.
  3. The ratings may not reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels since Arbitron may have received incomplete or unusable server data.
  4. As Arbitron Internet Broadcast Ratings (powered by MeasureCast technology) transitions to a subscription-only service, some stations previously reported in the ratings have elected not to subscribe to the service and will no longer be included.
  5. The 128K MP3 and all Ogg streams for Virgin Radio/1215 AM & 105.8 FM are not currently measured by Arbitron Internet Broadcast Ratings.
  6. Due to a switch in Content Delivery Networks, tuning for The Adsertion Network is lower for the week.
  7. AOL reported problems with their server data for the week, resulting in ratings that are lower than prior weeks.
