Although expected growth in managed health plans in the health services industry should provide good prospects for actuaries, anticipated downsizing and merger activity in the insurance agent and broker industry will adversely affect the outlook for these workers. The number of openings to replace those who leave the occupation each year is limited and new openings are restricted by the relatively small size of the occupation.
