Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds 'Crash' Luther

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will return to the CFL for the second time in four years to promote their newly released album "Live at Luther College" which was recorded in the CFL in Feb

. 1996.

Ticket priority for the 8 p.m. concert Feb. 27 will go exclusively to Luther students with co-curricular activities fee (CAF). All tickets are being distributed to students with CAF through a lottery-by-day system which began Tuesday, Feb. 9 using applications delivered to students' SPO's. About 1,400 tickets will be available for the college's 2,500 students. The tickets will be delivered to the selected students' SPO's next week. Any remaining tickets will be released to the public on Feb. 15.

"Since 1996, Dave Matthews has maintained his status as one of the foremost pop stars. To have him at Luther a second time in four years is really incredible," said Gabriel Scheer, 1996 SAC Concerts co-chair.

The 1996 Luther concert was selected for the album by Matthews and Reynolds because of the technical quality of the sound and the concert night atmosphere, including audience response. The main hall of the CFL is designed specifically for music performances and is regarded as one of the top acoustic and technical facilities in the upper Midwest.

Other album releases by the Dave Matthews Band include "Crash," "Live at Red Rocks," "Under The Table And Dreaming," "Before These Crowded Streets," "Remember Two Things," and "Recently." "Live at Luther College," a 23-song CD set, is expected to sell two million copies.

The Dave Matthews Band has been nominated for two 1998 Grammy Awards in the categories of Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and Best Rock Album.
