RESTAURANTS It's tough to get a bad meal in Cozumel, but as a general rule of thumb, it pays to venture out from San Miguel's central plaza and try your luck at restaurants outside of the tourist corridor. Three worthwhile stops: Guido's, 23 Avenida Rafael Melgar (the main waterfront drag), offers an eclectic menu, everything from Mexican and Caribbean-fusion specialties to really good pizza. La Parrila del Yaqui, on Avenida Pedro J. Coldwell, specializes in grilled Mexican seafood, lamb and beef. Be adventurous and order the sopa de medula (bone marrow soup.) Popeye el Marino, on Avenida 25, is a friendly joint that fries all kinds of seafood to perfection -- conch, fish, prawns. The lobster is good, too.
