Pyramid schemes are sometimes confused with network marketing because they have a similar structure and are largely built by word of mouth. Yet, unlike Network Marketing, Pyramid schemes pay based on recruiting rather then on product sales, and in many instances, no product ever exchanges hands. Pyramid schemes are illegal because their structure eventually collapses, leaving people at the top wealthy and people at the bottom holding the bag.

family and friends won't buy from you? If so, then you might
be in an illegal pyramid scheme, not a Network marketing
company.

Brokerage Account Are you or your Network Marketing company making claims on
how much money can be made in 3, 7, 10 or 30 days? If so,
then you just might be in an illegal pyramid scheme, not a
Network marketing company.

Stock Broker Have you invested money to get product but still have not
received it? If so, then you might be in an illegal pyramid
scheme, not a Network marketing company.

Brokerage Online Stock Trading Have you invested money to "gift" money? If you did, then
you might be in an illegal pyramid scheme, not a Network
marketing company.

Broker Justin Ticket Are you putting money into a program every month hoping
you'll get it back - plus interest - in 10, 20 or 30 years?
If you are, then you might be in an illegal pyramid scheme,
not a Network marketing company.

Real Estate Brokerage Have you invested $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000 or more to
"buy" your way to the top of the company? If you did, then
you might be in an illegal pyramid scheme, not a Network
marketing company.

Commodity Broker If your company "moved" a group of distributor(s) from one
organization to another, then you might be in an illegal
pyramid scheme, not a Network marketing company.
